We're excited to share a new addition to the Designer Docs library! Developed by Larry Stephenson, CPBD, this nifty scale is a game-changer for scaling drawings. It works for architectural and engineering drawings alike!

What is Wabi-Sabi?

Wabi-sabi designs showcase organic shapes and asymmetry, mirroring the irregularities present in nature.

It's a philosophy rather than a set of rules or parameters. Wabi-sabi for one client may not be wabi-sabi for another.

Recent Committee Activities

Meet our Education Committee

As a standing committee, AIBD's Education committee has been dormant for a while. Newly elected board member Dennis Fletcher has stepped up to revive it with the support of Kimberly Mockert, Lyle Breeze, Jeff Fry, and Nick Smith. They will convene virtually for the first time on Tuesday. The committee will collaborate closely with the Conference Committee, the Certification Council, and the ARDA Committee. Chairman Fletcher emphasizes the importance of catching up and taking action to drive meaningful change.

Building Codes & Standards Committee

Chairman Jack Butler is beginning to compile and review IRC code proposals. If you're having problems with a particular section of the code at the local level, reach out to Jack. It's possible the code needs to be clarified, amended, or removed. Amendment proposals must be submitted by January 2025 to be included in the 2024 Group B cycle.

Have a triumphant week.
